About Us

Car Buyer Scotland is the buying arm of the Caledonian Autosalvage group — we buy scrap, damaged and unwanted cars across the whole of Scotland, collect them free, and process them at the group’s SEPA-licensed facility. One form, a firm offer by email, paid by instant bank transfer.

The story

A buyer with a yard behind it

Most “car buying” websites are lead brokers — they sell your details to whoever pays most, and the price changes when the truck turns up. We’re the other kind: Car Buyer Scotland buys for the Caledonian Autosalvage group, so the offer you read in your inbox is from the people who actually collect and process the car.

That’s the whole model. No middlemen taking a cut out of your price, no call centre working you over the phone, and nobody renegotiating on your doorstep — the offer stands as written, paid in full by instant bank transfer before the driver leaves.

The buying side

Car Buyer Scotland runs the offers, the uplift bookings and the DVLA paperwork. Everything happens in writing — you keep an email trail you can hold us to, from first offer to proof of payment.

The processing side

Caledonian Autosalvage operates the SEPA-licensed group facility where bought cars are depolluted, dismantled and recycled — and where end-of-life cars get their Certificate of Destruction issued.

Licensing

The boring paperwork that protects you

Selling to an unlicensed buyer can leave the car legally yours long after it’s gone — fines, parking tickets and worse still land on the registered keeper. Selling into a licensed operation closes that loop properly.

What we will — and won’t — do

The promises below aren’t marketing; they’re the rules this site is built on.

After the uplift

What happens to your car

Nothing vanishes into the grey market — every car we buy goes through the group facility.

  1. Collected and logged

Our driver uplifts the car free, anywhere in Scotland, and it arrives at the group yard the same trip.

  2. Depolluted properly

Fuel, oils, battery and airbags come out first at the SEPA-licensed facility — the legal bit most sellers never see.

  3. Recycled or reborn

End-of-life cars are recycled and certificated; salvageable ones live on through the group’s parts operation.

Put us to the test

The offer costs nothing to read

The fastest way to judge us isn’t this page — it’s the number. Send the reg and postcode, read the firm offer in your inbox, and compare it against anyone you like. It stays a no-obligation email either way.
